Our History
A legacy of faith, revival, and transformation
The Latter-Rain Outpouring Revival Ministry
A Holy Spirit–Led Pentecostal Church Founded on the Word of God (Joel 2:23)
The Latter-Rain Outpouring Revival Ministry is a Holy Spirit–led Pentecostal Church established on the foundation of God's Word, in accordance with Joel 2:23. The ministry was founded in August 1965 by the late Bishop, the Right Reverend Dr. O.V. Parris (PhD, DD), who responded in obedience to the call and leading of the Lord.
The ministry's headquarters is located at Hoxton Street, Islington, London N1 5LX.
Leadership Transition and Early Ministry
In 2002, upon the passing of the Founder, the Right Reverend Dr. O.V. Parris, the responsibility of leadership was entrusted to Pastor Creswell Green, who served faithfully at that time. Although he had not sought such a position, he accepted the call with humility, conviction, and faith.
Pastor Green undertook various studies in Christian Doctrine to "show himself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth" (2 Timothy 2:15). He obtained a Certificate in Theology from the University of London, and after graduating from the Latter-Rain Outpouring Revival Bible College, he was ordained in 1983 as the minister of the Peckham Branch.
Shortly thereafter, he was appointed Deputy Overseer of the ministry by Founder and Director Bishop Dr. O.V. Parris, assisting in many areas of evangelism and ministry development.
A New Era of Leadership
Following the transition of Bishop O.V. Parris in 2002, Rev. Green assumed full responsibility for the operations of the Latter-Rain Outpouring Revival Ministry.
On Saturday 25th October 2003, in the presence of over 42 ordained ministers, Rev. Creswell Green was consecrated as Bishop of The Latter-Rain Outpouring Revival Ministries and of The Joint Council of Anglo Caribbean Churches. Over the years he has served as Treasurer of the Council and has since been elected Chairman.
Bishop Green furthered his theological education, completing three years of advanced study and earning a Master of Theology (MTh.) Degree from North Carolina University and the South London Bible College in 2008. He later received a Doctor of Divinity (DD) from The Missionary Chapel & Seminary Institute in March 2013.
International Honour and Recognition
On 7th September 2020, Bishop Green was honoured by the Word of Life Christian International Fellowship (WOLMI)—the only Full Gospel organisation accredited by the United Nations Economic & Social Council with authority to appoint Ambassadors to the UN and inter-governmental bodies.
Through this honour, Bishop Green received the title: "His Excellency the Honourable" and the designation "OMS" (Order of Minister Statesman).
This appointment grants him the right to attend UN activities as a Minister Statesman, with the award citation recognising his humanitarian work and his commitment to community development and care.
Growth and Development of the Ministry
Since its inception Latter Rain Outpouring Revival has expanded and is now called 'Latter Rain Outpouring International Ministries' significantly, establishing several additional branches across the United Kingdom and the East and West regions of the African continent.
These branches operate with:
- One aim
- One desire
- One determination
Each branch maintains its own administrative staff while receiving spiritual oversight from Dr. Bishop Green and maintaining accountability to the Ministry's Executive Board.
Our Mission & Vision
Mission Statement
The Latter Rain Outpouring International is a Holy Spirit-inspired ministry which established in the community to fulfil the will of the Almighty God. As God’s messengers, our mission to “Go into all the world and preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all people” (St Mark 16:15) to bring men, women, boys, and girls to the knowledge of God. Our dependence is on God, who has empowered the church to preach the good News of salvation.
The Church is authorised to preach repentance and remission of sins among the nations in the name of Jesus (St Luke 24:47), who has declared that “All power is given unto him in heaven and Earth” (St Matthew 28:18). Our mission is to declare the glory of God and to be a lighthouse in this dark world—opening the eyes of the nations and turning them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God.
We are committed to nurturing and encouraging young people to reach their full potential, while also seeking the good and well-being of the elderly within our communities. Our desire is to establish centres of excellence where people of all ethnicities and ages can find love, caring fellowship, and opportunities to support our mission projects both at home and abroad.
Our Objectives are to:
- Teach the gospel
- To distribute Christian Literature
- To Assist in spiritual growth
- To provide and maintain a place of Religious Worship and Christian activities for the community
- To establish additional branches of ministry
- To support missions and initiatives that help Young people, Adults, the vulnerable and the elderly in our communities to develop in self confidence, self-esteem, character and skills to achieve their maximum potential
